She was a client at the time of the TUBBS fires, which devestated a large portion of our community, and went through most of our transitions.
Her photo captures our rise perfectly!

A short video highlighting our history as we transitioned from Rich Family Day Care Home to Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center and into our first permanent location.
We began our business, in October 1990, as a small family child care home. In 1992 we expand to a large family day care home that included a full preschool program and K-12 home-school.
For almost 32 years we have supported the families we serve with a quality program format that provides stability and structure for children to thrive. We are committed to our community by providing quality care with standards that will keep children safe & healthy.
In 2017 our community was devastated by a county-wide firestorm and our home, thus our business, burned down. No longer able to operate as before we were issued a temporary waiver to operate in the home of another licensed provider. With our waiver expiration coming to end we were presented with an opportunity to open anew as a child care center.
As we negotiated all of the changes in our community, and to bounce back personally and professionally, from the devastation of the October 2017 Fires, we continued to work tirelessly with licensing and the 4Cs to revise our business model without compromising our mission.
We announced our new name and start date on April 2, 2018.
After proceeding with all of the requirements to open as a center we were fulfilling a needed service to our community by providing infant care. We serve families with infants 2-24mos.
Throughout this process we wanted to honor our community, our personal challenges, as well as emphasize our determination to not let our recent hardship hold us back.
This was the driving focus when choosing to name our program.
We chose Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center as our new name.
The name we chose demonstrates our perseverance and honors our healing. The following poem will continue to be a part of our future.
HOPE WILL ALWAYS RISE
by Cary Rich
We were broken but will continue to breathe
We were wounded but will continue to heal
We will pick up where we left off
We will move past the ashes left behind
Now, the rubble that remains
Becomes the fire that guides our way
Our hope will always rise
Our hearts will always shine
In honor of hope:
We will continue to work closely with all of the resources available to provide our community with a quality program that serves families with infants.
