Our Leadership

Meet Mr. Josiah & Miss Cary

After operating a family day care home in Santa Rosa, CA from October 15, 1990 - October 8, 2017, following the devastating loss of their home and business during the TUBBS Fire, they revised their business model and opened Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center.

Cary earned her degree from Santa Rosa Junior College with a double major, in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. She holds a Site Supervisor's Permit from the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.  In 2022 Cary was selected as a new Director Mentor where she assists other program administrators when they face challenges. She continues her education regularly to stay abreast of changes that occur in this field.

Josiah has his master's degree from International Seminary, he has served on Sonoma County's Board of Mental Health.  He is currently working on his PhD in Natural Medicine with an emphasis on the effects of nutrition in child development.

After revising their business model Josiah completed the requirements in the area of Early Childhood Education and earned his Teacher’s Permit from the State of California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.

They are participants in the 'Quality Counts', CARES and PITC programs where they will continue their professional development with the hopes of their center becoming a training and observation site.

Together, they have raised six children; five daughters and one son.  They have ten grandchildren and a multitude of other 'children' thought Sonoma County that have touched their hearts and still remain in contact with many of the families to this day!

Cary and Josiah would love to open their arms and hearts to include your family as an added extension of theirs!
